Olive Leaves
Olea europaea
The leaf of the olive tree is used, along with other herbs, to treat high blood pressure and angina. They help to improve the function of the circulatory system. They are also mildly diuretic and may be used to treat conditions such as cystitis. Possessing some ability to lower blood sugar levels, the leaves have been taken for diabetes. Olive leaf is widely recommended as a broad-spectrum antiviral and antibacterial agent, but its antimicrobial effects are mild at best and other herbs should be considered first.
